Born and raised in Charleston SC, Steven began playing drums in his senior year of High School. Steven quickly realized music was his passion and began studying music at the College of Charleston, where he received a BA in Jazz Performance. Steven made a career as a local musician in the Charleston area before moving to Nashville with the band The Biscuit Boys. After some wonderful times recording and touring with The Biscuit Boys, the band took a break and Steven returned to freelancing. Over the next 20 years, Steven has been blessed with performing, touring, and recording with many Nationally acclaimed artists including Dangermuffin, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, The Everyone Orchestra, Adrienne Young and Little Sadie, The Ranchhands, The Drew Emmitt Band, Red Cedar Review, Battery Brass Band, and The Reckoning. Steven has also performed on stage with many Artists including Leftover Salmon, The Emmitt-Nershi Band, Keller Williams, The Larry Keel Experience, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Grant Farm,Yonder Mountain String Band, Perpetual Groove Acoustic Trio, Yarn, Town Mountain, Same As It Ever Was, Admiral Radio, and many, many more. Steven has also produced many local shows and fundraisers including The Woodstock 50th Anniversary Tribute Show, The LowCo Surf Jam, The Healing Hearts Concert, The Biscuit Boys 20th Anniversary Show, Turkey Jam, and The Turkey Bowl. Steven has performed at countless Festivals and music venues throughout 48 US States and 13 countries so far, logging well over a million miles across the highways of the US. Steven is also involved with the business side of the music industry having worked as a band manager, label administrator, tour manager, booking agent, stage manager, event producer, fundraiser coordinator, and as a founding board member of the non-profit organization Jazz Artists of Charleston (now called Charleston Jazz).
